Physical properties

Chemical properties

Insoluble in water, easily soluble in acid. See the sun darken. It will be converted into zinc sulphate in humid air for a long time. It is generally obtained by the action of hydrogen sulphide and zinc salt solution. If a small amount of Cu, Mn, Ag is added to the crystal ZnS as an activator, after illuminating, it can emit different colours of fluorescence. Used as analytical reagents, paints, paints, white and opaque glass, filled with rubber, plastic, and used to prepare phosphors. It is made by sulphur and zinc co-heating.

B-type zinc sulfide is cubic crystal. White to off-white or yellow powder. The relative density is 4.102 and the melting point is 1700 ° C. Coefficient of thermal expansion (volume): 100 ° C, 0.156; 200 ° C, 0.386; 400 ° C, 0.898; 800 ° C, 1.996. It can be slowly oxidized to sulphate in the air.
